Welcome to the New Edinburgh Folk Club, the folk and acoustic music club of Dunedin, New Zealand.
The New Edinburgh Folk Club derives its name from that of our fair city, Dunedin (the Scots Gaelic name for Edinburgh), founded in 1848 by Scottish immigrants. The club began in 1975 as a place where people interested in traditional and contemporary acoustic music could share their talents, skills and repertoire in a semi-formal and social forum. Today it continues to be highly active with weekly clubnights, three annual festivals, regular concerts, workshops, sessions and social activities.

Although it is a club, all our events are open to all-comers, audience and performers alike, hence our by-line: Bring an instrument, a friend or just yourself. All welcome.
